Furlough leave extended to September 2021

Furlough has been extended to the end of September 2021. You can claim 80% of your employees pay (subject to the £2,500 a month cap) up to end of June. From 1 July you will be able to claim 70% and, from 1 August, 60% of pay and which you will be required to top up to 80%. You will remain liable for employer’s national insurance contributions and pension costs throughout the remainder of the scheme.

Under the extended scheme, you do not need to have previously claimed for an employee before the 30 October 2020 to claim and, for periods starting on or after 1 May 2021, you can claim for employees who were employed on 2 March 2021.

Employers can furlough employees for fixed periods or on a flexible furlough arrangement.

Please contact us if you are intending to utilise the scheme for the first time, or are planning to extend existing furlough arrangements.
